Gina’s Makapu’u Maternity Photo Session

Maternity sessions are so heartwarming. I love to capture this part of the beautiful journey of motherhood. There’s so much anticipation, hope, and joy in the hearts of expectant mothers. Their radiant faces just brighten up my day and fill my heart with love! It’s a time to bond with your family members and mark the milestone as a new member is about to join the family. The emotions are genuine, reactions organic, and smiles authentic. It was no different when I did a maternity photo session with Gina and included her 7-year old daughter Mia in the photos. What a lovely day it was, and the time we spent together was precious! With the ethereal views of mesmerizing Baby Maks, Makapu’u, and the gorgeous blue sky in the background, we got some stellar images during this session!

 

Baby Maks Maternity Photography

 

Photographing the lovely mother-daughter duo in the northwest of Makapu’u, popular as Baby Maks because it is toddler-friendly, was a pleasure. I just loved documenting Gina’s special moments as she nurtures another life inside her! In her blue maternity robe, which blended beautifully with the surroundings, Gina looked like a true goddess. Her pretty haku lei (floral tiara) added a pop of color to the images and so did Mia’s, who was looking resplendent in a pretty white dress. Their gorgeous haku leis were made by Kylie from Mealohamade.

During the shoot, Mia helped her mom with her dress shots. I could just see how excited the little girl was to have a baby sister. The way she hugged her mom and looked at her was adorable and heart-melting! Each time I get an opportunity to document something like that, I truly feel so fortunate to be able to witness such pure love and an indescribable bond between a mother and her child. It’s always an honor to be able to capture these special moments on my camera.

It was a bit cold and windy while we were shooting, but thanks to the high spirits and warm smiles of my girls, it didn’t seem like a challenge at all. In fact, you would never know about it by looking at the photos. All the natural light, the rocks behind, and the crashing waves helped me create some wonderful mom and daughter portraits. I loved the tidepools, and you can even see the rabbit island in the background in some of the photos. Such a lovely time I had with Gina and Mia and loved playing my little role in their moments of happiness.

Gina, you are amazing! I love and truly admire you. Photographing you at Baby Maks, Makapu’u, was a pleasure, and having your little girl around just made my day. She is such a sweet child.
